crochet balls

Busy busy busy this time of year, but I took a few moments to satisfy my crafty needs and made these little balls, using the pattern from Attic24 . They take no time to make and I can predict that I'll be making loads!

I hope you all can take a few moments for yourself during this hectic time of year. I love seeing all the christmas craft and decorating going on, I wish I was more in the spirit, definitely next year!

Petite bookshelf

Crafting has slowed down lately at my place unfortunately...almost to a standstill. Life has been getting in the way. But during a brief moment of inspiration I took on a tiny project of prettying up a little display box. It originally was a compartmented box with a framed glass lid but I though it was the perfect size to be a funky bookshelf for petite Blythe and maybe the beginnings of a dream dollshouse I hope to create next year.

Who wouldn't want a strawberry shaped tv?!

Now I really should get back to christmas preparation, it is what I am meant to be doing after all!

Another granny cushion

Yet another granny square cushion! I started this one quite a while ago and at the time was inspired by all the Union Jack decor around, so this cushion definitely has a 'Brittish' feel to it. It has now been gifted to my dear friend at the dreamers garden to enjoy.

Linking up here today.

meow!

Crochet ...I just can't seem to get enough of it lately! Just before I went away, I crafted up this cutie as a birthday treat for a dear friend who has a special place in her heart ( and her home!) for ginger kitties. I think he is so sweet even with his crooked smile and now I think I must make one for myself in the image of my handsome gentleman cat, Oliver.

This ginger tabby is now happy in his new loving home, aaw!

Halloween has just been and gone. It's a shame it isn't really a big deal here in Australia...but since Halloween originates from the celts, Ireland really knows how to celebrate! Here are just a few cute shop displays I snapped while away in Ireland and the Uk. Maybe next year I will take inspiration from these and go all out and decorate the house with webs, witches and pumpkins.

And a beautiful owl I photographed at Dublin Zoo. Hoo  hoo!

pretty pandas

Well hello, it has been a while! Please excuse my blogging break as I have been on a month's holiday in Ireland and England...photos to come in future posts, once my jetlag subsides!

Just before I went away I was crocheting like mad to finish a few more pandas to give away whilst in Ireland. They are much adored in their new homes. I love them and there will be more on the way too....

The purple one may look familiar from here

Sewing machine cover

Making a cover for my sewing machine has been on my 'to do' list for a very long time and the other day I was finally able to cross it off!

These are my favourite colours and I love that apple print so much. A quick and easy little projectto satisfy the sewing urge.

cutest panda ever!

Still in the mode of 'small projects', I crocheted my first ever 3D toy!
 Ooooh, I adore him.
I followed the pattern in 'Meet me at Mikes'. Way back when I bought this book I couldn't even crochet, so I looked at this panda and thought "no chance"...

But here he is...there was no way he was going to be a normal black and white panda, hehehe.
Out and about, smelling the jasmine.

All I can say to anyone who thinks this little fella is beyond them, DON"T! Please give it a go. It is just one basic stitch and a little bit of increasing/decreasing....and patience. But it is so worth the effort, you'll be so proud of yourself! I'd love to see one of these guys on every crocheter's page.

Vintage sheet spring throw, Ta-Daah!

Like many of you, I've been collecting vintage sheet odds and ends for a while now... I always had a little patchwork throw in mind to showcase all the lovely purples and blues. But me being a bit lazy when it comes to sewing big projects, I just joined the patchwork top to a fleece blanket with some binding, all done by machine, no hand stitching here! I'm happy with the result, although don't look too close at the corners!
The weather was warm today, Spring is in the air and what a perfect time to finish this floral beauty!

I love checking out other vintage sheet projects too, so please send me links if you have seen any cool creations lately ( or have you some of your own?)

New crafty supplies

Don't you just love getting new crafty bits and pieces! I have can't keep off the internet lately and as a result these lovelies arrived in the mail box today.

Pretty and pastel...I almost think I should just keep them in this frame!

I think this is my favourite.

Oooohh, the ideas are flowing now!

Colour my world

There can never be too much colour in my life...Just saying!
Inspired once again by beautiful Attic 24, I began making a rainbow crochet bag....but as it grew I thought that I will probably never use it so it became a stool cover instead!

 The early stages.
 The finished product!
 Pretty colours.
A few 'issues' with my colour joining technique, but oh well it adds handmade character, right?
I've taken this colour obsession to a new level and behold...my new pink hair! It's just a bit of fun but I will be back to blonde soon I'd say :)

A rainbow filled life for me! xxxx

Another pastel makeover!

Yesterday was an op shopping day,YAY! I found this cute cane dolls chair squashed into the basket bin and thought immediately...I could do something with that!
Add a lick of lilac paint and a few pretty cushions and here it is! I just wish it was adult size however I think it will be the prefect size for a Blythe doll....but that is another story!

I love these colours together the most.

More plastic purses

Recently I had a spurt of sewing excitement (it comes and goes) and whipped up a few more pretty plastic purses. I love small projects that I can actually get finished and it's so much fun mixing and matching colours and fabrics together. The plastic can be a little fiddly at times, but it's so rewarding when they turn out ok!

I have a few more 'plastic' ideas so hopefully I will get cracking on those very soon. Too many crafty ideas....not enough time!

Felt macarons

Still on a macaron high, and inspired once again by Mollie Makes ,I've been crafting cute little felt macarons. I'm usually not a huge fan of hand sewing, but with these I have actually enjoyed it...maybe because the stitches are well hidden so don't have to be perfect!

Such a wonderful magazine, I don't know what I'd do without it now!
